Up for sale is a beautifully restored Poppy Green 1968 Ford Mustang Coupe with a 347
Stroker Motor mated to a 4 speed manual transmission. Only 4,000 miles since the
complete restoration. The car was originally a 289 3 speed. No expense was spared in
turning this classic car into a daily driver; with the replacement of all parts on this car to
make it a true restomod - no detail was overlooked during this build. The car is 100%
rust free, laser straight, looks and run phenomenal and always gets thumbs up and a
favorite at car shows. It is a dream to drive, sounds amazing, and a lot of fun on the
back country roads. The car has NEVER been tracked or in an accident.
The paint is a 9.9/10 and the pictures do not do it justice. This restomod includes brand new quarter panels, doors, fenders, hood, front and rear valences, rear taillight panel, trunk lid, floors, trunk floor, front and rear frame rails, torque boxes, rear wheelhouses, front inner fenders and rad support. This was done to ensure that the car is absolutely perfect and completely rust free, body filler free, laser straight, and solid! Car was professionally painted to show quality with the following: 2 coats of PPG DP Epoxy primer sealer, 4 coats of PPG Deltron Poppy Green base coat (which is a very neat and rare Ford promotional color for Mustangs in 1968 and 1969), and 5 coats of PPG DC2021 Clearcoat and hood inlay and taillight panel finished in PPG matte Hotrod Black. All panels were then seam sealed for long term weather resistance. Full rewire via Painless Performance wiring kit.
Interior appointments include a custom gauge cluster loaded with Autometer Pro Comp Ultralite gauges and integrated shift light. It has a Custom Autosound factory look stereo (bypassed) with a Polk Audio 2-Way Amp powering Rockford Fosgate 8 subwoofer cleanly installed in the speaker package tray and a 4-way Mosconi Gladen One 80.4 4-Way Amp powering the kicker speakers in dash and Focal ICU-690 speakers in the rear tray, all with high end wiring. HD music supplied by an Astell and Kern KANN Alpha. Adjustable Corbeau sport seats, 3 point seat belts in the front and rear, Sparco Alcantara steering wheel, new TMI dash pad, Scott Drake premium carpeting, complete Dynamat sound deadening and a TMI Alcantara 3 piece solid headliner kit and package tray. Brand new heatercore and blower motor.
Braking - Wilwood Dynalite 4 Piston brake kits featuring 12.10 rotors on all four corners. All brake lines and hoses are made by ClassicTube. All hard brake lines are stainless and all brake hoses are stainless braided. A rear proportioning valve provides adjustability for even braking.
Professionally built 347 Stroker (based on Ford 302 Engine) estimated to deliver between 460-470 hp at the crank. It features a fully forged rotating assembly, forged pistons, total seal rings with aluminum heads with a Lunati roller valvetrain and Lunati Beehive valve springs with titanium retainers. It features 10.1:1 compression, and Canton 7 quart baffled oil pan. It has a custom grind Comp Cams Road race 0.560 lift cam, Edelbrock Victor Jr intake manifold, a Holley Sniper EFI self-tuning, and a custom fabricated air box housing a K&N panel air filter. CVC Billet pulleys, Flex a Lite electric cooling fan, Champion Cooling 3 row aluminum radiator. Ignition is handled by an MSD Pro Billet distributor, MSD 6AL2 ignition box, MSD Blaster HVC coil, and 10 mm Taylor wires. Fuel tank was replaced with a Tanks EFI style baffled tank with an in-tank fuel pump which sits in a fuel bowl. This tank eliminated sloshing fuel which most old cars are plagued with. All AN fittings and brand new Earls Stainless Braided fuel lines deliver the fuel. A chrome plated Powermaster 150 Amp alternator was installed in 2021.
Steering - Power Steering is an EPAS electric power assisted power steering system with input assistance that is fully adjustable. It can be dialed up to steer with just one finger, or dialed all the way down to zero assistance.
Exhaust - Stainless full length headers, fully welded 2.5 exhaust with X-pipe and finished with Stainless Dynomax Ultra Flo round mufflers.
Transmission/Driveshaft/Rear End - Autogear M23 4 speed transmission with hardened internals, Hurst shifter, an ACT clutch and pressure plate and a Howe Racing hydraulic throwout bearing fed from a Wilwood clutch master cylinder eliminate the old style Z bar manual clutch. Action Machine 3.5 custom fabricated aluminum balanced driveshaft mated to a Ford 8 3.89 rear end with a Trac Loc limited slip differential.
SUSPENSION - Tubular Global West upper and lower A Arms, Global West strut rods, S27 Springs with Opentracker Roller spring perches, Baer bump steer eliminators, brand new steering gearbox, Global West Subframe connectors. Front and rear Global West sway bars, and Prothane bushings all around. Custom fabricated aluminum strut tower brace and Monte Carlo bar above. The rear houses custom Maier Mustangs lowering leaf springs and adjustable panhard bar. Viking Warrior double adjustable shocks on all four corners.
It cruises perfectly and you can rip it when you want to. The spend to finish this car is significantly higher than my asking price. Im only selling due to being out of space and recently adding a couple of new projects. I will take cash, wire transfer, cashiers check (Ill hold the car until the check clears).
